Our Venus, Rio Vista, Keene, and Alvarado High School students all loaded up early on the Saturday of March 3, 2018 and we all headed to Arlington! Our first stop was the Bob Duncan Center for lunch and a Physics workshop. We were very lucky to have an awesome physics teacher join us and work with our students. The students were broken into two groups, a lower level and a higher level of physics. The students learned how gravity, force, motion, and all things related to roller coasters, affect our bodies. They then had a project they had to carry out in the park. They broke into smaller groups and had to pick a roller coaster to measure its force via an accelerometer app on their phones. They then had several problems they had to solve once they obtained this information. Our students and staff had a blast learning about the rides and of course riding them!
