DUSTIN PHILLIPS – President and Co-Founder, Opportunity Resource Services (ORS)
Dustin Phillips is one of the co-founders of Opportunity Resource Services and directs the Upward Bound program, EOC Dallas program, and EOC Johnson County program. Originally from Amarillo, Texas, Dustin earned his Bachelor of Science in Church Ministry from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2002 and later earned his Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Texas Arlington.
Dustin’s background is similar to the majority of the students that we serve. Dustin grew up in a low-income family and was the first in his family to enroll in college. After working with youth for many years he decided to focus his work on ending generational poverty in Texas. In 2010, Dustin co-founded Opportunity Resource Services with that exact goal. Over the course of the last decade, Dustin has helped shape the trajectory of this organization and continues to be instrumental to the success of our students. Dustin has over seventeen years of combined professional experience working with students in educational, mentoring, and travel settings. Dustin also has experience in grant compliance, budgeting, finance and is a natural leader which makes him a perfect fit for his position in our organization.
When not in the office Dustin enjoys sailing, spending time with his family, and beginning new and unique endeavors. He is currently a City Council member in Benbrook, Texas, and has aspirations to one day improve the lives of even more people through his work. Although his schedule is always busy, Dustin still makes time to mentor and coach the students.
