Davion Pearson is the College Access Advisor for the Educational Opportunity Center program that serves all of Dallas County. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Davion attended North Carolina A&T State University where he earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree. He currently attends the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing his Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Children and Families.
Davion was the first to obtain a college degree in his immediate family and relates to the barriers of many of the ORS Upward Bound & EOC students & clients. Davion has many years working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds where his passion is to help establish a positive trajectory in their lives. Davion loves making meaningful connections and seeing his student’s hard work lead to success. Davion joined the ORS team in 2020 as a Program Coordinator for Upward Bound. He was instrumental in developing new curriculum for the Upward Bound Summer Work-Study Program.
In his current role as College Access Advisor, Davion will provide resources and educational guidance to Dallas County areas. Davion is driven to uphold the ORS vision of a Texas without generational poverty and wants to be a front runner for bridging the gap in providing an equitable and excellent service to all.
